General Employee Pay Regulations in France

Minimum wage

The statutory gross national minimum wage is €11.88 gross per hour.

For full-time employees, this amounts to €1,801.80 per month for a 35-hour workweek. However, CBAs often provide more generous compensation than the required minimum.

Frequency

Salaries must be paid at least once a month.

Payday

There is no fixed date, but commonly, employees are paid on the last day of the month. Some collective agreements may impose a specific payday.

Payment requirements

It is not mandatory to make payments to employees or the French authorities from a local bank account.
