Employee pay regulations in the United Kingdom
Minimum wage (to be commenced April 1st)
- 18-20 – £10 per hour
- 21 or older – £12.21 per hour
Frequency
Up to the company, but bi-weekly and monthly are the most common.
Whatever the frequency, it must be specified in the written statement of employment particulars.
Payday
Payday is usually at the end of the month, between the 25th and 30th or the last working day of the month.
